Just spoke ot Michelle at Maplin, and she was not sure why my back order of 7th Jan wasn't processed, but apparently they have been dealing with people who call in, and then sort them out straight away - so in a nutshell, the order in the queue is a load of c**p!

Mine is being dispacthed today, at long last, after many calls, and the new order I placed today has now been cancelled, although that woud have also made it's way too.

Thanks to all on this site, for all the help and info!!!

If you understand how Stock system works.

Nil Stock.
500 on Back order
500 Get booked in.
Stock shows 500 in stock.
New Orders come in
Stock goes down.

But if no-one releases the Back Orders they stay on the system, while new orders get despatched.

I placed my order today with Maplin. It said item was in stock. I then called them. Girl found my order and said it was to be despatched today.

If you've a Back Order, then call them and tell them to release yours.

Well done Parag, it's the only way. I rang them yesterday and hassled and mine turned up this morning... Option 1 on their helpline gets answered quicker (as it's sales as opposed to aftercare which shows where priorities lie!!!).

Managed to get one today (at last)
and this despite all retailers not having stock on their websites
if its any help got mines from Curry's by phoning them and asking to be put through to my local branch
they wouldnt do that but checked stock---code----808073
there were 3 units locally to me in Falkirk---now 2

Maplins are certainly going out of their way to be frustrating! Tried to get my order bumped up as that seemed to be the only way to get ahead of new orders. Told again that they are going out in strict order sequence (ha, ha). However he was away for nearly 30 minutes discussing with web team, during that time item disappeared from website altogether but has now come back as out of stock (back in 14 days). I suspect that the system wasn't working as either it was supposed to or everyone thought. Probably gained me nothing but IF they do at least start allocating them in a fair order that's something I suppose.
