I finally got mine from Maplins !! it took 18 days from ordering it until it arrived and it was supposed to be within 7 days but i cant grumble with it being £274.99 withe £25 off voucher , anyway i have it at last!!!

theres one left in Argos Titchfield, near Fareham, Hampshire as of now. 300 mile round trip a bit far though! (type in postcode po144ej)

Had one on order since November from Comets ... Had a call last week, delivery date 27th January ... sill not arrived ! Fed up !

I got fed up with waiting and the poor customer service at Maplin so decided to cancel my order. Told them on the telephone and confirmed by email and then three days later it was delivered.

Ordered another from Maplins ... 2 weeks is still better than 3 MONTHS !!!! BOO YOU COMETs !

With regard to Parag's query about guarantee length, I emailed Humax support about this and after about a fortnight got the reply:
"Dear Sir,
There is a 2 year warranty.
Kind Regards
Humax Support"
So appears to be same as with previous boxes (also about the same length of time as it takes Maplin to deliver!)
Maplin don't seem to respond to emails at all and the last "customer care" rep I got seemed to want to still argue the cases that orders weren't queue jumping and inability to say where you were in the queue. After asking to speak to her supervisor was left on hold for a few minutes then cut off! They really don't seem to care about their reputation at the moment.

Andrew's experience mirrors mine - when I called Maplin to cancel they denied they were arranging queue jumping and put the phone down on me! I had to phone back and speak to someone else to make sure they had actually cancelled the order.

I subsequently ordered thru Comet, and it arrived today, exactly as predicted.

I'll be avoiding Maplin at all costs in the future - they are a bunch of unhelpful muppets.
