I think "Muppets" have a random answer generator. About an hour after I posted yesterday about being told on the phone they were expecting 550 on Monday, I got an email (only took them a week to respond) to say they were expecting 250 (they say I'm 54th in line so should make no difference even if they let a few go out for instant orders). How can they lose the delivery at such short notice?
a. They were never scheduled to get them
b. lorry stolen, ship sank, plane crashed.
c. They're annoying their suppliers as much as their customers so the consignment's been reassigned.
They really are unbelievable in more ways than one!
At least JL don't appear to be stimulating an excess of pre-orders that they can't satisfy by giving wildly misleading in stock expectations but we'll have to see who comes up with the goods first.

Thanks for your excellent service. I also had the run around from Maplins who did not seem to care about the pre order farse. Managed to pick up my Hummy from Fenwicks Newcastle just by chance. Good luck to all those waiting.

Just spoken with Maplin. The delivery expected early Feb has been put back by Humax to 16 Mar and delivery to customers should be expected around 18 Mar. So much for the web site saying that stock due in in the next 14 days. Looks like John Lewis got the next Maplin delivery - just as well I managed to get a pre-order in before they sold out!
