I ordered one from Laskeys on Saturday got a confirmation email stating delivery in 3 to 5 working days but credit card was not debited. called them this afternoon and they have none in stock seems to be a computer glitch.

I have just reserved the one in Argos Peterborough. Will pick up tomorrow. Thanks to the OP.

Well I have just ordered one at Argos Huddersfield with an email to say it is ready to collect today. Fingers crossed!

I don't believe it. Cancelled maplins because of the march delivery, JL have just called me to say that items that were pre-ordered last week will now not be delivered until early march. I am now well and truly fed up.

While I think Maplin are guilty of soliciting pre-orders with false impression of delivery dates (they're still showing stock in 14 days!), I think the fact that JL are now having to move their dates out as well suggests that the suppliers (i.e. Humax) may be a large part of the problem by changing what they're offering to deliver.
Finally gave up on Maplin and picked up a box from Argos yesterday (anyone in Manchester area, there should be one available again at Wythenshawe this evening).

I run the Maplin Website. I can understand everyone's frustrations. The fact of the matter is that Humax has been overwhelmed by unprecedented demand and is doing all it can to fulfil the orders. We, like every other retailer, are pushing on a daily basis for extra, larger and quicker deliveries.

The good and bad point regarding the popularity of this product is that it genuinely was 14 days to delivery, but new demand is by far outstripping our current supply. The March date is a guaranteed date of delivery to fulfil back orders and have stock in but we will be getting in deliveries before then. We can't promise exact dates but rest assured we are doing all we can to fulfil orders. If you look at the delivery date on site it does now say 28 days which we feel is a more accurate reflection. We do appreciate your continued patience with what is without doubt the most successful satellite product in years.

Just ordered mine from Comet - these units are a nightmare to get hold of. I hope that the product will meet expectations!

Got one at Argos Ancoats in Manchester today. By chance I decided to put some post codes into the Argos search and it said 'just one left' . I booked it and picked it up this pm. I think there are some in the Argos stores and my advice is to keep checking whenever you get the chance.
