Checked Comet website and none in stock for my postcode, thought I would try again this evening and one was available. So have order from them for delivery on the 13th Feb (Friday!!) and cancelled my order with John Lewis. I hope that it is 3rd time lucky and that getting hold of this product is worth the aggrovation - 10 days until I find out hopefully.

Still unsure to splash out the £300 + another £100 for installation due to one issue - how many programs are broadcast in HD?

If someone could kindly help, it appears only about 2 programs a day are on ITV and 1 BBC channel with a mixture (not the BBC1 schedule). Is this due to expand soon?

Also does the picture improve over normal Freeview? I have a Panasonic 37" screen and allways feel it could be clearer (games played through XBox 360 are crystal clear as HD) and i think i heard something about the picture being slightly better on freesat.

Well i picked mine up from Argos today, which I would not have found without this site. I was worried that it would be a bit like hearing rave reviews for a film and then it not being quite as good as you thought, but in actual fact it was just as good as i hoped.

The HD quality on my Samsung 37" is excellent and I am looking forward tonight to settling down to watch the merseyside derby on ITV HD.

Look forward to more HD content coming but in the meantime this compares very favourably to my previous sky plus and Humax Freeview PVR which has now been firmly relegated to the bedroom.

Just ordered my box from Comet, arrives next tuesday (10th).For those having trouble finding them keep trying, I live at the end of the world (Devon) and by using the alerts from this excellent site and a bit of patience I have come up trumps. Again as mentioned before, BYE BYE SKY!...
